The Czech Optical Cluster achieved a significant milestone in April by successfully obtaining the prestigious Cluster Management Excellence Silver Label, which confirms the high level of its management, strategic direction, and services provided to its members.
The award is granted by the European Secretariat for Cluster Analysis based on an independent audit that evaluates the quality of cluster organisations according to an internationally recognized methodology. The Silver Label represents an advanced level of cluster development and serves as proof of its professionalism and ability to perform well in a European comparison.
The audit itself took place in mid-March 2026 and included a detailed assessment of the cluster’s activities by an external evaluator. The evaluation focused on areas such as strategic management, member engagement, international activities, contribution to innovation, and the quality of services provided. The assessment included both supporting documentation and personal interviews with the cluster’s management. 
Receiving the Silver Label confirms that the Czech Optical Cluster is systematically working on its development and is creating a high-quality environment for cooperation between companies, research organisations, and other partners in the field of optics and photonics. The award also strengthens its credibility towards international partners and opens new opportunities for involvement in international projects and initiatives.
“We see this award as a confirmation of the long-term work of our entire team and our members. It motivates us to further improve and develop activities that support innovation and the competitiveness of the Czech optics industry,” said representatives of the cluster.
Looking ahead, the Czech Optical Cluster plans to further develop its services, strengthen international cooperation, and continue building a strong platform for knowledge sharing and the creation of new technological solutions. The Silver Label is therefore not only a recognition of past achievements, but also a commitment to further growth.
