In mid-September, Czech-Polish Photonics 2026 took place in Pec pod Sněžkou as part of the accompanying programme of the 24th Czech-Polish-Slovak Optical Conference. Organised by VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, the event brought together researchers, companies, and other experts from the Czech and Polish photonics ecosystems.

The event was held in cooperation with our long-term partner, the Polish Photonics Technology Platform (PPTF), represented by its Executive Director, Igor Derylo. We were also pleased to see strong participation from members of the Czech Optical Cluster, including CRYTUR and OptiXs, as well as contributions from the Department of Optics at Palacký University Olomouc.

The meeting highlighted the importance of cross-border cooperation in photonics. Joint activities include not only knowledge exchange and networking, but also participation in European projects such as PhotonQBoost under Horizon Europe. The Laser PRO consortium, of which the Czech Optical Cluster is a member, was also presented.

Czech-Polish Photonics will continue next spring in Poland, providing another opportunity for experts, companies, and research organisations from both countries to meet and develop new partnerships.

We would like to thank all partners, speakers, and participants for the inspiring discussions and for their shared vision for the future of photonics.
