Institute of Scientific Instruments of the CAS, v.v.i.
Mission of the Institute is in methodology-oriented research; i.e., development of new diagnostic methods, novel instrumentation principles, techniques of measurement, analysis and imaging in inanimate and living nature. Together we focus on development of associated advanced technologies needed for experimental setups and apparatuses we build to proof new methods. The methods and techniques for investigation of matter are designed to operate in the range from the macroscopic to the quantum regimes, enabling significant progress in the understanding of nature as well as the practical applications thereof. Main areas of ISI research are: magnetic resonance, electron microscopy and microanalysis, utilization of lasers, quantum technologies, acquisition and processing of biosignals, construction of scientific instruments and their parts, and improvement and utilization of special technologies.
