On February 17, 2026, the seventh online workshop MEZI SEBOU took place. Its aim is to introduce cluster members to one another and to support both business and research & development cooperation.

Below you will find the workshop minutes and the shared presentations. The following participants introduced themselves during the workshop: Activair s.r.o., Hikade Technologies s.r.o., TechSoft Engineering, spol. s r.o., Olympus Medical Products Czech spol. s r.o., and VSB – Technical University of Ostrava.

Activair s.r.o. – Martin Papula

Advanced equipment for science and research, especially utilizing optical methods across all levels of industry.

The company specializes in vacuum technology and space simulation – their customers range from the food industry to the space sector.

They are a non-manufacturing company, primarily focused on system integration.

They supply compressed air technologies, which may be of interest to other cluster members. They also develop plasma systems for the semiconductor and optical industries and for space applications.

They are members of several professional organizations: the Czech Optical Cluster, the Czech Vacuum Society, the Czech Semiconductor Cluster, the Association for Heat Treatment of Metals, and the Czech Chamber of Commerce.

Main services and products: vacuum pumps and compressors – design, calculations, manufacturing, and testing; vacuum chambers.

Service and system integration form a substantial part of their activities, both in standard environments and in specialized clean and ultra-clean rooms.

They cooperate with Czech and Slovak universities on joint research projects (nanotechnology, lasers, energy).

Their main motivation for joining the cluster was the launch of optical instrumentation activities. They supply digital holographic microscopes, atomic force microscopes, and ellipsometers, as well as active vibration isolation systems.

They are building their own atomic force microscopy laboratory in Brno and offer its capacity to members of the Optical Cluster.

Hikade Technologies s.r.o. – David Nevřivý

A startup based in Brno, specializing in mechanics and mechatronics. The company develops custom single-purpose machines for industrial applications, with expertise in mechanics, mechatronics, and numerical simulations.

Positioning systems:

  • Gimbal Odysseus – designed for operation in various weather conditions.

  • Gimbal Patrol – a two-axis positioning device used for Earth observation and data connectivity. They utilize the HAPS (High-Altitude Pseudo-Satellite) platform.

Vacuum applications for localized clean environments: AeroVac, suitable for vacuum and optical applications requiring cleanliness validation.

Hector testing bench – designed for testing and development of new frequency converter series.

They are interested in establishing both business and R&D cooperation with Optical Cluster members.

Olympus Medical Products Czech spol. s r.o. – Jan Doležel, Monika Doleželová

Since 2023, research and development know-how has been gradually transferred from the German parent company, and an independent development center is being built. By 2028, the company will become a fully established research center.

They manufacture disposable probes and electrodes for general surgery, snoring treatment, urology, and gynecology.

They provide endoscope and gastroscope servicing for 28 countries.

They use laser welding and laser marking technologies. A picosecond laser for marking is planned for 2026. They weld stainless steel, tungsten, platinum, and iridium. They also perform tube forming, pressing, and crimping in final product assembly.

They use 3D printing technologies: FFF/FDM, SLA (resin), and SLA (stainless steel). The printers are used for manufacturing fixtures and for prototyping new product designs.

They are currently building a new production facility for nearly 200 employees, primarily for the R&D center – the Olympus Campus.

They already cooperate with several cluster members and are seeking collaboration in simulations. They offer know-how in material forming, laser technologies, and 3D printing.

VSB – Technical University of Ostrava – Kamil Postava

The first quantum computer has been launched.

Workplace specialization: spectroscopy and spectroscopic ellipsometry. A recent development is the extension from the ultraviolet range into the terahertz region.

Security holography – complete technology for testing and developing new holographic and diffractive optical elements.

They cooperate with international research laboratories and universities, as well as with industrial partners (holography, semiconductors).

They offer comprehensive ellipsometric and spectroscopic characterization, photonic structure design, and advanced modeling. They are interested in research collaboration with cluster members.

Invitation to the Czech–Polish–Slovak Optical Conference, September 14–18, 2026, in Pec pod Sněžkou, including a joint workshop of the Czech Optical Cluster and the Polish Photonics Cluster on September 16–17.
