Traditional Military Conference to Be Held Over Two Days This Year: September 23–24, 2025, at the University of Defence in Brno
Title: “Sustainability and Life Cycle of Defence Systems: Optoelectronics as a Strategic Capability of the Czech Republic”
The conference will focus on key challenges and opportunities in the sustainable development of defence technologies, particularly in the field of optoelectronic systems, in the context of the needs of the Czech Armed Forces and Czech industry. Emphasis will be placed on the comprehensive management of the entire product life cycle – from development and production, delivery, integration, and operation, to long-term service, modernization, and logistical support.
Discussion topics will include:

Involvement of Czech research and development in defence technologies,

Domestic production and localization of service capacities (so-called domestication),

Sustainable and flexible logistics (e.g., stock management, delivery schedules),

Systematic life cycle management of products in public procurement,

Cooperation between the Czech Armed Forces, industry, and the academic sector,
-
European competencies and strategic self-sufficiency in defence technologies.
The goal of the conference is to create further opportunities for collaboration between the state, armed forces, industrial enterprises, and research institutions—leading to the strategic development of a sustainable, self-sufficient, and technologically advanced defence ecosystem in the Czech Republic.
The conference programme will include presentations from partner organizations, a panel discussion, and other expert contributions.
A part of the event will also be a social evening, offering an informal networking opportunity for members of the Czech Optical Cluster, representatives from the Czech Ministry of Defence, the Czech Armed Forces, the Defence and Security Industry Association of the Czech Republic, the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic, and other participants.
