On November 27 and 28, a member meeting and workshop on “Photonics and Strategic Cooperation” was held at the Institute of Scientific Instruments of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Brno, organized by the Czech Optical Cluster.
During the meeting, the membership expansion was approved to include three new members – Charles University, Elya Solutions s.r.o., and VALEO AUTOKLIMATIZACE k.s. The Czech Optical Cluster now comprises 43 members in total.
One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the conclusion of a strategic cooperation agreement with the Czech National Semiconductor Cluster. This collaboration promises significant progress in Czech industry through the integration of cutting-edge technologies, while also strengthening the Czech Republic’s position in the global market.
Another important point was the signing of a memorandum of cooperation with the Moravian-Silesian Automotive Cluster. This initiative aims to utilize the potential of both clusters’ members to support secondary education through creating conditions for professional internships, traineeships, and dual education. These activities target not only students and pupils but also schools and parents to promote awareness of technical education and its benefits.
Optics and Its Role in the National Semiconductor Strategy
The meeting emphasized the importance of cooperation between the Czech Optical Cluster and the Czech National Semiconductor Cluster. This collaboration represents a key milestone in connecting two strategic areas – optics and semiconductors. Through joint activities, partners will be able to more effectively face challenges in technological research, innovation, and industrial production.
Optics and Its Role in the National Quantum Strategy
We see further significant potential for optics development in the upcoming national quantum strategy. Optical quantum technologies form one of the six key technical areas of our cluster. The second day of the workshop brought inspiring presentations and showed interesting opportunities for cooperation between Czech Optical Cluster members.
