The Microscopy 2026 Conference, held on June 1–3 in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, once again demonstrated that microscopy is no longer just a specialized scientific discipline. It has become a key component of the broader optical ecosystem, with a direct impact on research, technological development, and industrial applications.

Among the speakers was Petr Přikryl, Manager of the Czech Optical Cluster, who presented the talk “Building the Czech Optical Ecosystem.”

“It was a great pleasure to participate in the Microscopy 2026 Conference and present the talk ‘Building the Czech Optical Ecosystem’. The event once again demonstrated how strong and interconnected the Czech microscopy community is and how important a role it plays within the broader optical ecosystem. Thanks to close cooperation between research, innovation, and industry, Czech microscopy has the potential not only to succeed in the European and global context but also to actively contribute to shaping and further developing this ecosystem,” said Petr Přikryl.

At the conference, the Czech Optical Cluster once again confirmed its role as a platform connecting key stakeholders across disciplines and geographical boundaries. The Cluster also supported the event as a partner and sponsor.

We highly value our long-standing cooperation with the Czechoslovak Microscopy Society, of which we have been a traditional partner for many years. Equally important is our collaboration at the regional level, including with the Brno Region Microscopy initiative, which systematically connects academia, research organizations, and industry within the strong Brno innovation ecosystem.

Our ambition is not only to support the development of microscopy and optical technologies in the Czech Republic but also to continuously strengthen European and global partnerships. International collaboration remains a key driver of competitiveness, innovation, and future growth for the Czech microscopy and optics community.

We would like to thank the organizers for an excellently prepared conference and for creating an inspiring platform for expert discussions that continue to advance the field.
