On May 15, 2025, Petr Přikryl, Executive Director of the Czech Optical Cluster, attended the Photonics21 Board of Stakeholders meeting in Brussels—for the first time as an elected board member!

As one of over 20 newly elected stakeholders, we are proud to contribute to shaping the European photonics strategy. Photonics21 plays a key role in defining the European Union’s research and innovation priorities, including contributions to Horizon Europe and the upcoming 10th Framework Programme (FP10). The platform brings together more than 3,800 members from across the continent—academia, research, and industry.

From artificial intelligence and healthcare to semiconductors and advanced manufacturing, photonics is powering the innovations of tomorrow. And Europe’s leadership in this field is more important than ever.

We’re excited to bring a Czech perspective to the discussion. The Czech Republic was well represented—Jiří Martan from New Technologies – Research Centre, University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, and Sanin Zulić, M.B.A., Mgr. from the HiLASE Centre also took part in the event, contributed to strategic dialogues, and built valuable international connections.
