OPTICAL ENGINEER JUNIOR

We develop and produce premium lighting systems and Electronics modules for the automotive industry. By doing so, we shape the appearance and character of vehicles around the world. In this exciting position you are main responsible for the light/optical engineering part in customer projects in our ZKW Engineering Office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Optical development of lighting‑relevant parts in compliance with the guidelines, rules, and best practices of the Optical Engineering department, under the guidance of or in cooperation with experienced colleagues.
• Participate in reviewing and understanding legal, customer, and internal lighting requirements.
• Support the evaluation of prototypes and photometric measurements.
• Plan and execute assigned tasks on time, with regular progress updates to the responsible engineer or project lead.
• Maintain and update basic optical development documentation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (mechanical design, electronics, testing) to support the optical development process.
• Actively learn and develop skills in optical simulation tools, lighting technologies, and ZKW development methods.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Technical or university degree in optics, physics, mathematics, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field.
• Motivation to learn and develop in the field of automotive lighting technology.
• No prior professional experience required – training and mentoring will be provided.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Intercultural interest and an empathic, collaborative personality.
